My first Treasuries on Etsy!

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

Ok, so, it only took me "almost" two years to make my very first treasury on etsy. Whose counting? Only me, lol. These are my first two attempts. I really enjoy the process of curating and promoting other artisans work on etsy. It's a fun way to connect and hopefully make a new friend or two. I've made several more since venturing out. Initially, I was completely intimidated by the process. But, there is this new, cool, tool to help you out called Enhantsy. It makes treasury making a breeze. Check it out!!

Sonya Kanelstrand

I wanted to mention a word or two about another fellow etsian. Her name is Sonya and runs the shop Kanelstrand. She also runs a great blog. Besides producing some fun images she also blogs about health, beauty and acheiving a simpler less cluttered life. I definitely recommend you stop by and have a look.

Etsy Treasuries

Two of my images were featured in these two beautiful treasuries on etsy this month. Russet Reeds and Rainy Bench in Nice. The first treasury called "Blue Pumpkin" was curated by Eshkar Neiger from Heart for EveryOne on etsy and the other called "October Finds" was curated by Irek from The Bird On The Tree. Enjoy!

What a wonderful time of year Autumn is. I always think of October in terms of color, especially orange and blue. Colorful leaves silhouetted against an azure blue sky. What could be better? Maybe the aroma of wood burning on a cool and crisp evening? Pumpkin or apple picking with the kids? Apple cider? So many joys of the season. The photo's above were all taken on the north shore of Long Island, New York. You can still find some lovely bucolic areas there.

Autumn Waters

Summer is over and Fall has been reborn. All the magnificent colors of Autumn makes me think its something new arriving when in fact it is the end of a cycle. I love the fact that the leaves turn fabulous colors before they wither and die. It's hopeful and lovely. I took these photos on a  beach out east on Long Island on a beautiful October day as the sun was setting. They're available in my Etsy shop.

Palm Trees in Switzerland

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

People are often surprised to learn that Switzerland has palm trees. This is Ascona. A beautiful small town on the Italian Lake Maggiore. This is in the canton of Ticino near Italy. The Italian lake region where Italy and Switzerland meet is one of the most enchanting places on earth. Well, at least to me. You can have fog at certain times of year, but the climate is generally temperate and mild and the scenery spectacular. Not to mention the food of course. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful Etsy Treasury

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

This morning my beach umbrellas were  featured in this beautiful treasury curated by Maureen from Earthcrums. I am in awe of these treasuries that are so well done and put together. I have to admit that I haven't even tried doing one yet. Can you imagine? I have had my shop on Etsy for a year and a half and haven't ventured into making a treasury. I must get to it soon. Anyone who has a shop on Etsy is aware of the enormous amount of work it entails. Finding the time to do treasuries too is simply amazing. The exciting thing about treasuries is that you get to promote other artisans whose work you like and admire. I'm looking forward to getting to it.

Fairy Godmother

I came across this humorous art print on Etsy today in Anne Garrisons shop. It struck me because I was feeling kinda low and weary. It made me laugh and perked me up. But, BTW, where the heck is she? Have you seen her?

Paris Market

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

Last time I visited Paris I came across this charming chalkboard sign with these lovely peonies along side it. For those who aren't familiar with the French language it reads "Peonies from our garden". It then states that you can buy the peonies by the single flower or by the bouquet. As Americans we are so familiar with the industrialization of everything. Or the professionalism of everything. Here in Paris you can still spot old world charm and simplicity. I like that.

Summertime is Here!

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend celebrating with family and friends. Summer is officially in full swing now. Long days at the beach soaking up the sun, breathing that wonderful salty-sea air, riding a few waves and leisurely taking long walks with someone you care about. That includes the dog! If you don't have access to a beach its lakeside or poolside you go. Happy Summer to one and all.

At Home in Florida

©2013 Palm Trail Press All Rights Reserved

The weather in Florida doesn't get much hotter then other places up north during the summer months. But what's definitely hotter is the heat from the sun. Midday until 3pm it can be so strong that you want to run for cover. Mornings and evenings are lovely though. The ocean always has a constant breeze which is refreshing. After living up north or abroad in northern climates the most amazing thing is the temperature of the ocean. It's so warm here. I'm always amazed by this. The above photographs are recent images I've taken of Florida. You can find them both in my Etsy shop.

Summertime!

Time to break out those beach umbrellas and head out. There is nothing better then a day at the beach to recharge ones batteries. The sea air, the warmth of the sun and the healing powers of the salt water all add up to heavenly bliss. This photograph is available in my etsy shop.

I have been so fortunate to be included in so many wonderful treasuries this month curated by some very talented women. The first treasury above "Roses are Red" was curated by Beth Keeton and she selected my photo of "Paris in the Rain". The second treasury called "Crimson Dreams" was curated by Gayle from "A Twist of Whimsy", and she chose my image "Orange Bougainvillea". I can't thank these women enough for all their support.
