Beach Abstracts

The beach has such an allure for most people. I've heard it said that the reason for this is our ancient genetic coding. The remembrance of where we evolved from. I'm sure that's probably true. I find that gazing upon the horizon is one of the most soothing and comforting experiences there is. Generally, there is nothing there to obstruct the magnificent, wide, expansive view. Except perhaps occasionally a boat or two. This coupled with fresh, oxygenated air and carefree attire normally makes for a very relaxing experience. I'm a beach lover and find renewal there any time of day, month, year and anywhere in the world.

Beach abstract #18, the image on top, was taken on Long Island in Lattingtown during the winter. The white streaks of color are actually snow that had recently fallen. The blue abstract below it #12, was taken in West Hampton Beach, NY, midday on a beautiful, sunny, summer day. Beach Abstract #2 was shot in Maui, Hawaii at the end of the day with the most incredible orange, pink and blue. Beach Abstract #3 was photographed in St. Tropez in the South of France. I left the camera on a very long exposure at the end of the day and the results were these lovely, soft, pastel colors. The white part of the image is the surf breaking onto shore.
